Luxury and adventure combine at Lake District hotel

The Brimstone Hotel at Langdale may be a place to experience ultimate luxury, gadgetry and pure unadulterated relaxation but the hotel realises where it is based so adventure is never far away.

Firstly on Saturday April 18th is the St Georges 10k organised by Great Langdale Road Races. Held in April each year to coincide with St Georges Day on the 23rd, the course is a slightly undulating (it is the Langdale Valley after all) out and back route with a definite emphasis on fun. Saying that, competitiveness is never far away but for the younger ones there’s a family fun run starting an hour before the race proper. The views are simply stunning and it’s why any of the Great Langdale Road Races are always very well participated in from locals and visitors alike. More information including entry details and forms can be found here, http://greatlangdaleroadraces.co.uk/stgeorge-race/.

A past St George’s 10k, what a setting.

Brimstone are also firm promoters of an event happening further north, the Keswick Mountain Festival. Held in May between the 14th and 17th. Year on year the festival has grown bringing bigger names to talk and provide entertainment. It is now one of the leading outdoor festivals as well as being a family one at the same time. The Brimstone team will be attending located in the ‘Berghaus Adventure Hub’.

Remember Brimstone will be in the Berghaus Adventure Hub

And talking of Berghaus, Brimstone are committed to the outdoors 365 days a year in the form of the Berghaus bootroom. Guests of the hotel can borrow any of the vast range of the latest Berghaus walking gear for use during their stay. If you’ve forgotten some kit when packing or the weather turned out to be finer than forecast (or more lightly a little damper and cooler in the Lake District!), there’s no need to miss out on enjoying the fells.

Brimstone at Langdale can be contacted on 015394 38062 (please note, availability at the hotel is very low for these key events).
